Welcome to Eagles Flight Guesthouse & B&B

The convergence of various factors, about 12 years ago, realized a long-standing dream of homeowners Daniel and Dalene de Lange. We recognised the need for accommodation in Ashton.

After thorough investigation (and many prayers) and acquiring permission from the authorities, we started the house-building project. We decided to build a wooden-extension onto the existing house – two bedrooms and a spacious deck, dining room and braai area was added to accommodate guests. The log-cabin style was our preferred choice because we love the natural look.

In 2005, Daniel and Dalene, with their three young children (at that stage), Francois, Jacques and Dewald endeavoured the building of the Guesthouse/B&B. With the extra hands supplied by Gallie and Andries, this momentous building task was completed within a space of eight weeks! Thus the first Guesthouse/B&B in Ashton arose from nowhere into the sky, having spectacular views over the surrounding Zandvliet vineyards and Riviersonderend mountains in the distance – and was aptly named: Eagle's Flight Guesthouse/B&B!

We faced and overcame many challenges. But with the loyal support of local businesses and tourists stopping over on a regular basis, we have stood the test of time. It has been an honour to serve people since the day we've opened – and we enjoy every minute thereof. Our mission is to look after the well-being of our clients (who become friends) and to provide service of high quality.

The rural atmosphere brings a calmness in the fast passed world we're living in.

On the opening day of the Eagle's Flight Guesthouse/B&B, a guest blessed us with the following entry in the guestbook:

"Folds of mountains draped like hounds at rest
Rise and fall above the blossomed orchards' zest:
Balmy air woos this wondrous wooden nest
As skilful kindly folk attend one's least request."
